Han Jun Stresses During Inspection in Guangdong: Accelerate the Cultivation of New-Quality Productive Forces in Agriculture to Strongly and Effectively Advance Comprehensive Rural Revitalization

From November 29 to 30, Han Jun, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, conducted an inspection in Guangdong, focusing on rural revitalization and agricultural science and technology innovation. He emphasized the need to thoroughly implement the important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping, draw on the experience of the “Zhejiang Rural Revitalization Project,” improve long-term working mechanisms, and strongly and effectively advance comprehensive rural revitalization. He also stressed the importance of keeping pace with global frontiers, accelerating breakthroughs in key core agricultural technologies, and promoting high-level agricultural science and technology self-reliance and self-strengthening, so as to provide strong support for building an agricultural powerhouse.

During the inspection, Han Jun visited the BGI Group Global Headquarters at the BGI Space-Time Center to learn about the application progress of BGI’s perennial rice, forage crops, and agricultural microbial inoculants. He encouraged the company to continue deepening its efforts in agricultural biotechnology, decode more genetic information, and develop and promote more green and efficient crop varieties and farmland improvement technologies, thereby making greater contributions to safeguarding national food security.
