Fresh off the inspiring ICG-19 main conference in Shenzhen, where over 100 scientists, experts, and leaders from across the globe—spanning the United States, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Australia, and Singapore—came together to share the latest advancements in omics research and applications, they explored future directions and opportunities for collaboration in biotechnology and the bioindustry. This December, the journey continues with unparalleled energy in the stunning city of Sanya, Hainan.
From December 4 to 6, 2024, the 19th International Conference on Genomics (ICG-19 Sanya) will be held at Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City in Sanya, China. The event will feature a series of sessions showcasing cutting-edge insights and breakthroughs, and we warmly invite experts, scholars, and industry professionals from around the globe to join us in advancing life sciences worldwide.
ICG is a global academic gathering in the field of omics, dedicated to the theme "OMICS for All," with a mission to harness genomics for the benefit of humanity. Since its inception, ICG has championed academic freedom, ignited innovation, and fostered collaboration across the life sciences. Thanks to the contributions of distinguished professionals and pioneers from around the world, ICG is now recognized as one of the most significant conferences in the global life sciences.
Since the first conference in 2006, ICG has welcomed over 1,500 scientists, including Nobel laureates, and engaged more than 15 million global participants, together witnessing the rapid advancements in genomics and life sciences.
The ICG-19 Sanya event will continue to uphold the sprite of the Human Genome Project (HGP) - “Owned by All, Done by All, and Shared by All” - and promote global scientific collaboration and knowledge exchange. The conference will revolve around the theme “Omics Leading a Deeper and Broader Blue Bioeconomy,” spotlighting the latest advances in genomics with special attention to agricultural germplasm resources, sustainable development, and deep-sea biology and resource exploration.
Against the backdrop of growing importance for global agricultural sustainability and biodiversity preservation, we believe this event will not only create a platform for international academic exchange but also, with an open global perspective, contribute to advancing global agriculture toward digitalization, sustainability, and efficiency. It will further support the sustainable use of marine resources and provide scientific backing and innovative insights for the high-quality development of the marine economy.
