BGI Group is aware that Oxford Nanopore Technologies plc (ONT) has filed an ex parte application in the U.S. seeking to gather evidence regarding alleged breach of contractual obligations.

BGI is surprised by ONT's allegations, which we repudiate. As a global leader in cutting-edge sequencing technology and owner of numerous key patents, BGI values and respects the protection of intellectual property.  

BGI will not comment on on-going legal disputes, except that BGI will take all necessary actions to protect its legal rights and will vigorously defend itself against any allegations of misconduct.
