BGI Tops Asia-Pacific Biological Sciences Corporate Institutions Rankings in 2024 Nature Index for Nine Consecutive Years

BGI has achieved the top position among biological sciences corporate institutions in the Asia-Pacific region and ranks eighth globally in the newly released 2024 Nature Index annual rankings. This marks the ninth consecutive year that BGI has held the leading position in the Asia-Pacific biological sciences industry.

图片 2.pngBGI has held the leading position in the Nature Index Asia-Pacific biological sciences corporate institutions ranking for nine consecutive years, and ranks eighth globally in the 2024 Nature Index annual rankings.


The newly released rankings are based on Nature Index data from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023. Among the top 10 global biological sciences corporate institutions, BGI is the only institution from China to make the list. Of the others, five are from the United States, two from Switzerland, and two from the United Kingdom.

 

For many years, BGI has been deeply involved in life sciences research, consistently producing internationally influential scientific results based on its independently developed multi-omics technologies, including genomics, cell omics, and spatial omics.

 

As of June 24, 2024, BGI has published a total of 5,155 scientific research papers, with 603 articles in 'CNNS' publications (the leading academic journals CellNatureNew England Journal of MedicineScience, and their related publications, if any).


In 2023 alone, BGI published 382 papers, including 62 articles in the CNNS series, achieving significant research breakthroughs in areas such as brain science, diseases, plants and animals, evolution, and development.
