BGI College Signs MOUs with Two Medical Universities in Kazakhstan

On December 20th, BGI College signed Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University and Astana Medical University. The MOUs establish collaborative frameworks for the development of scientific research, education and training programs, and the exchange of scientists and teachers for educational activities.

Shoranov Marat Edigeevich, Rector of Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University; Kamalzhan Nadyrov, Rector of Astana Medical University; and Dr. Dongsheng Yang, Vice Dean of BGI College, formalized the Memoranda of Understanding. The signing ceremony was witnessed by several dignitaries: Alchinbaev Mirzakarim Karimovich, Council of the Rector of KAZNMU on scientific and clinical work and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of KAZNMU Endowment Fund; Serzhan Mussinov, General Director of Technopark Biogen LLP; Zakirzhan Mamet-Aliyev, Coordinator for Government Relationships at Technopark Biogen LLP; and senior executives from the BGI Group.

During the visit to BGI Group Headquarters and the China National GeneBank, the representatives from both universities focused on understanding the organization. They also explored the potential for implementing similar facilities in Kazakhstan, taking into account local specificities, as well as the technical specifications of equipment and recent scientific breakthroughs.
